Tree & Palm Trimming in Palm Beach, Broward & Miami-Dade
Palms and shade trees define the South Florida landscape. They also cause the most damage when they're neglected before a storm. Diamond Landscapes provides tree trimming, palm pruning, hurricane-prep trimming and hazardous tree removal for HOA communities, commercial properties and homes across Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties. Our experienced horticulture and tree-care team handles the work safely and leaves the site clean.
Palm care done right
Good palm pruning removes dead and fully brown fronds, seed pods and loose boots. It leaves the healthy green canopy in place. Over-pruning into a tight "hurricane cut" stresses the palm and can weaken it. We prune for the palm's health and appearance, not just to make the job last longer between visits.
Tree trimming and structure
Regular trimming improves a tree's structure and clears sidewalks, roofs, signage, lighting and sight lines. It also reduces weak or crossing limbs that tend to fail in high winds. For communities and commercial sites, we schedule rotations so every area gets attention without disrupting residents or tenants.
Hurricane preparation
Hurricane season runs June 1 to November 30. Trimming before the peak of the season reduces the debris that becomes projectiles. Once a storm watch is issued, it's generally too late to trim, because debris may not be picked up in time. After a storm, we help with cleanup and assess damaged trees.
Hazardous trees and removal
Dead, leaning, split or storm-damaged trees can be a liability. We assess them and remove them safely when needed. Some tree removals require a permit from the city or county, so check local requirements before any removal.

Frequently asked questions
How often should palms be trimmed in South Florida?
Most palms need trimming about once or twice a year, depending on the species. Remove only dead or fully brown fronds and seed pods, not healthy green fronds.
What is a "hurricane cut," and should I get one?
A hurricane cut strips a palm down to a few upright fronds. UF/IFAS advises against it because it removes green fronds the palm needs for nutrition and can weaken it over time.
When should trees be trimmed before hurricane season?
Before or early in the season, which runs June 1 to November 30. Avoid trimming once a storm watch is issued, because debris left at the curb can become airborne.
Do I need a permit to remove a tree?
It depends on your city or county and on the tree. Many local governments regulate removal of certain trees, so check with your local building or zoning office first.
